Implementing affiliate programs

Posted by Michael Bloch in web marketing (Sunday September 10, 2006 )

Considering starting an affiliate program for your company? Do you know the sorts of features quality affiliates are looking for in a partnership?

Perhaps you’re considering getting into the affiliate marketing game as a publisher – what criteria should you apply when screening programs?

A good affiliate program is a very powerful tool in generating sales for your company or generating revenue as a publisher. The stories you hear of affiliates generating 4, 5 and even 6 figure commissions in a single month do actually happen; albeit at the top end of the scale they are few and far between for one-man-shows. Still, there’s definitely substantial cash to be made whether you’re a small player or a multi-national if you implement/select the right programs.

My new article “What affiliates want” lists a variety of aspects you should consider when implementing, or looking for, affiliate programs.

By the way, I’ve published a number of guides on affiliate marketing over the years with information for both merchants and publishers; available in TTB’s affiliate marketing article section.
