Most of us would be familiar with Google site links (SiteLinks), but the mighty G appears to be toying with a new feature – mini site links.
In case you aren’t familiar with the feature, here’s how standard SiteLinks look:
Site Links are additional links under the domain name offering a direct link to various sections of a site. SiteLinks are automated, but it appears the algorithm for displaying or not displaying them is tied in with site popularity.
Web site owners who have SiteLinks displaying have a small degree of control via Google Webmaster tools in that they can block a particular SiteLink appearing.
Anyhow, back to the mini-SiteLinks; here’s how they look:
From what I could determine, these only appear on listings for sites that have ordinary SiteLinks displaying, and it’s not on every search result that lists the site. A nice little feature and it’s just another way that your site can stand out from the pack in Google’s results.
