Affiliate managers beware

A recent action by the FTC against a group of adult site operators is sending chills down the spine of many companies that operate affiliate programs.

According to the FTC complaint, under the CAN-SPAM Act, the site operators were liable for the spamming carried out by an affiliate. The settlement for the 4 parties involved came to over $600,000. (more…)

Internet fraud 46% of complaints

The Federal Trade Commission has released consumer fraud and identity theft complaint data covering January to December 2005.

Yahoo strikes back

This is sad. According to Yahoo’s Chief Financial Officer Susan Decker, Yahoo is prepared to continue to play second fiddle to Google, and in fact has no aspiration to be numero uno in search. (more…)

A survey carried out by Web Surveyor of over 500 participants shows that for the first time in online retailing history, women outpaced the men in online shopping during the 2005 holiday season. Even with the bumper season, shopping cart abandonment is still a major problem. (more…)
