For ordinary Joe Surfer, the stats are even worse. Commtouch estimates that over 71% of all email sent to the average consumer during the same period was spam - these figures are based on 5 million users sampled globally.
For February, the USA was stil the leading “source” of spam messages; (bearing in mind that sometimes USA computer users are hijacked by spam trojans operated from other countries), followed by; in descending order: China, Germany, Korea, France and the UK.
