Mark Zuckerman of Facebook has been reported as being world’s youngest self-made billionaire in history - grabbing the title from Billy Gates.

Many of us only dare to dream about becoming millionaires from our efforts on the web, but Forbes have put Mr. Zuckerman’s personal wealth at an incredible $US 1.5 billion.

Personally, I’d be selling up around about now, purchasing a small site dedicated to web marketing and ecommerce for a around a million which would be chump change; perhaps tidy it up a bit, but generally sit back a bit y’know? - Mark, call me! :).

In a double-blow to Bill (but I doubt he really even cares) US financier Warren Buffett has overtaken him as the world’s richest man, worth an estimated $US 62 billion. This year, Mr Gates is in third position after 13 years at the top.

While money isn’t the be-all and end-all in life; one of the things I do love about the web is the opportunity to make a stack of cash from very little capital outlay and few initial connections. There’s really not too many other opportunities I can think of where you can achieve that sort of result in such a short period of time, legally anyway.
