Coradiant, Inc. has reported that around 50% of of mission-critical Web site problems including general navigation errors, application glitches and poor response times are reported by users, rather than by employees that manage the Web site.

Companies who monitor their Web sites using a variety performance monitoring tools, including enterprise management systems, synthetic transaction monitoring and real-user monitoring are able to decrease that number to 35%, plus address any problems that may arise much faster.

Of those surveyed, over 50 percent stated a loss of business as a result of problems that occurred.

Those companies using a blended monitoring strategy reported that they repaired 90 percent of problems within 12 hours of the problem occurring, wheras those not using this approach reported 78 percent of problems being resolved in 12 hours. Respondents also stated that nearly 50% of all web site errors take longer than one hour to resolve.
