Results from a new research study underlines the importance of search in influencing offline buying. The report states that of the searchers surveyed who bought an item relevant to their query after their search, 37 percent completed their purchase online and 63% offline. (more…)

Email marketing improving

A few weeks ago, Epsilon Interactive published results of their current annual survey on people’s thoughts on email marketing and spam. The survey was based on 584 U.S. respondents aged 18 years + who have Internet access at home.

It appears that spyware infections are down, confidence in detecting phishing scams is up and generally, consumers will respond favorably (more…)

Opt-in email delivery destinations

A report on email address usage yesterday states that 30 % of U.S. internet users have a single email account, 37% have two, 19% have three and 13 % have four or more email addresses. A very interesting result in the report was the number of people using services such as Hotmail or Yahoo mail for receiving opt-in emails (more…)

It’s not just the little guys who are hurt by PPC (pay per click) auction fever. This was well demonstrated during holiday season 2005 where 2 major players (and no doubt many more) reported that they didn’t meet sales targets as a result of high click prices. (more…)

Lyris Technologies recently reported an overall 2% improvement in the deliverability of marketing email messages (permission based) amongst most of the largest USA and European ISP’s.
