Copyright year conundrum

I knew there was something I had forgotten to do as the New Year rocked around – change the copyright end year in the footer of my site pages. Ugh, that’s a whole 60 seconds work that I have to do each year!

OK, so it’s not much; but do we really need to update the copyright year annually on our sites; especially if you’re a sole publisher/site owner? Here’s what I’ve researched. (more…)

Stock photo prices plummet

When I started out on the web, buying stock photos and images was horribly expensive; sometimes up to a couple of hundred dollars for a single pic. Photo CD’s commonly sold for $500. Times have certainly changed and you can now pick up quality stock photos for as little as a couple of bucks. (more…)


Page load times annoy shoppers

You’d think with so many people using broadband now that page load times shouldn’t be an issue. Not so according to recent surveys of online shoppers which state that nearly all respondents complained that web sites load too slowly. It’s a particularly important point to be aware of with the holiday shopping season already under way for many. (more…)
